Environmental Council To Hold Input Meeting In Spirit Lake

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Members of the Iowa Environmental Council are urged to attend a policy roundtable discussion next month in Spirit Lake.

Marian Gelb, the council’s Executive Director, says it’s one of a series of meetings they’re holding across the state get direction from members on policy.

Gelb says most of the issues they’ve been hearing about so far in meetings held in other parts of the state include water quality, large scale animal confinement operations, and global warming.

Once the meetings are complete, Gelb says the council’s policy committee will collaborate and summarize the input. The committee will then make recommendations on what the council’s policy and legislative priorities will be for 2009.

The meeting for Spirit Lake is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7th at the Expo Building. Those planning to attend should RSVP by calling Vicki Hoogeveen at (515) 244-1194, extension 200.
