Emmetsburg Author Cody Howard is working on his next Children’s Book. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
After winning several awards for his first children’s book, Amazing Adventures with Glurr & Blurr: On Planet Doo-Dah, Emmetsburg Author Cody Howard is working to complete the next installment in the series. Howard says his artwork was the inspiration for the books. “A lot of what’s in the first book are drawing that I had already done. I was showing an ex-colleague of mine from the college all of my drawings and he had suggested that I should try to turn this into some kind of children’s book because he thought it was amazing. So, I did, and then it turns into this whole three book series.”
He notes that he hopes his books help inspire the imagination of children. “It’s really to broaden their intelligence about thinking of things that they wouldn’t normally think, or asking questions about things. Is this real? Could this potentially be a thing somewhere?”
Howard’s first book received an Honorable Mention in the Graphic Novel Category for the Purple Dragonfly Award, and First Place for the Royal Dragonfly Award. He also received an Honorable Mention in the first-time Authors Category through Story Monsters, Inc.
