(Spirit Lake)– An electrical fire in an alley behind Spirit Lake city hall made for some excitement Wednesday evening.
Spirit Lake Fire Chief David Kollasch says firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Upon arriving he says they found some lines from a pole that serves city hall were arcing and the pole on fire.
Kollasch says firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze once crews with Alliant Energy arrived and got the power turned off.
Kollasch says they cordoned off the area out of concern of the blaze spreading and new fires starting because of all the arcing, but the fire was contained to the pole itself.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene about an hour.
