(Spencer)– Plans to move operations of the Spencer Eaton’s plant to Mexico are being delayed.
Citing increased orders and good business forecasts, company officials announced Wednesday the 150 jobs that were to be moved from Spencer to Mexico will stay in Spencer for now.
The company announced it’s original plans to move it’s heavy duty assembly line to Mexico about a year ago. But company officials say that’s been put on hold, and they may still consider the transition at a later time.
The Spencer Eatons plant currently employs 459 people, down from last year as some temporary workers had already been laid off in anticipation of the relocation.
