(Spencer)– Expect some delays next week (Sept. 24-29th) if you’re going to be traveling through downtown Spencer.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says the Iowa, Chicago and Eastern Railroad will be replacing a crossing on Grand Avenue between West Seventh and West Eighth Streets beginning Monday (Sept. 24th).
The project, expected to take about a week, will result in the closure of Grand Avenue in that area.
Southbound traffic will be detoured beginning at the Grand Avenue/West 18th Street intersection west to Fourth Avenue West, south to West Fourth Street, then east back to Grand Avenue.
Northbound traffic will be detoured from the intersection of Grand Avenue and East Fourth Street, east to Tenth Avenue East, north to East 18th Street, then west back to Grand Avenue.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution and obey the posted signs.
