(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Saturday at the intersection of Fourth Street and Grand Avenue in downtown Spencer sent one person to the hospital.
Spencer police say 16-year-old Kelsey Stoever of Spencer was westbound on Fourth Street at the intersection with Grand Avenue when she collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by 71-year-old Lawrence Leppert of Dickens.
Police say Leppert had stopped in the intersection and was waiting for a vehicle in front of him to make a left-hand turn when the collision took place.
Leppert complained of lower back pain and was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. No injuries were reported to Stoever, who was cited for failure to stop in an assurred, clear distance.
900-dollars in damage was estimated to a 1990 Pontiac driven by Stoever; damage to a 2001 Mercury Sable driven by Leppert was estimated at 200-dollars.
The collision took place around 5:15 p.m. Saturday.
