(Des Moines)– DNR Director Rich Leopold announced Monday he’s named Bill Ehm as Iowa’s new Water Policy Coordinator.
Ehm is a long-time environmental and agricultural leader in Iowa.
He’ll serve as a special assistant to Leopold in coordinating state policy and planning on issues dealing with water quality and quantity.
Ehm currently coordinates the DNR’s storm water management program.
He previously served as the director of the Soil Conservation District of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and as coordinator of the DNR program to develop watershed improvement plans for Iowa’s impaired waters.
Ehm, a livestock producer, also spent more than a decade on Iowa’s Environmental Protection Commission.
He has served in a number of leadership positions with agricultural and environmental organizations.
