(Jackson, Mn.)– A nationally franchised discount store plans to locate in Jackson, Minnesota.
Officials with ALCO say they want to build a 25-thousand square foot store just south of Interstate 90 on Highway 71.
A timeframe for the proposed project hasn’t been announced just yet, but the retailer hopes to be open in Jackson by the end of the year.
The Jackson city council earlier this week approved a tax abatement for the project.
Another provision calls for the city to purchase a portion of the land on which two other stores would be located, in addition to ALCO. The council has yet to act on that provision.
Alco has 250 stores throughout the upper midwest, including one in Estherville.
