Dickinson Supervisors Sell Building; Approve Courthouse Changeorder

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A Morton building southwest of the Dickinson county courthouse in Spirit Lake has a new owner.

The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday voted to sell the structure to Corey Ulrickson. He was the only person to submit a bid at an auction held during Tuesday’s meeting.

Ulrickson purchased the building for 100 dollars with the stipulation it be removed from the site between August 15th and October 15th of this year.

The sale was made official following a public hearing that drew no comment.

The supervisors also approved a changeorder of 20,676-dollars for the courthouse project. It includes additional drywall work for fire proofing certain areas; staining of letters for the courthouse facade; and to correct a problem with a draft in the Clerk of Court’s office. It was reported that project will have to be done after hours, as it will involve some work in the ceiling.

Meanwhile, crews continue to prepare the grounds surrounding the courthouse for landscaping. Brick work on the tower is nearly completed. Once it’s finished, work will start on the veteran’s plaza and sidewalks will be formed.
