(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues) heard opposition to a recently completed project in Drainage District 48, near Kabele’s Trading Post in Spirit Lake. It came during a completion hearing the board held on the project. Among the parties filing objections is the city of Spirit Lake. City Attorney/Administrator Gregg Owens called into question $83,000 in changeorders on the project…
The project engineer defended the changeorders, saying there’s almost always last minute unknowns in projects such as this.
A neighboring landowner and a businessman also issued objections, claiming their operations suffered financially alleging the project damaged their land and business.
The supervisors continued the hearing to February 8th to give the project engineer and contractor time to further respond to the objections.
