(Spirit Lake)– After weeks of negotiations over language, the Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday approved a contract agreement with the PRIDE Group, Incorporated for operation of the Oak Haven Care Facility.
Assistant County Attorney Lonnie Saunders told the supervisors terms of the contract call for the PRIDE Group to borrow up to 250-thousand dollars from a lending institution to make various repairs and remediate the mold problem in the facility, along with paying the county $4,500 a month. Of the $4,500 a month, the amount of the amortized payment would be withheld by the county and put into a special account to be used by the county to make repairs and improvements to the facility.
The contract is to be in place for 10 years with the requirement the county give notification within 12 months of the end of that period in the event it decides to cancel the contract.
The supervisors voted four-to-nothing Tuesday to approve the contract.
Supervisor Pam Jordan was out of town.
