Dickinson County Supervisors Approve Re-Districting

February 22, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county supervisors today (Tues.) gave formal approval to a re-districting plan stemming from the 2020 census. County Auditor Lori Petersen told board members the state’s Legislative Services Agency has now signed off on the new supervisor districts…

“We could only come up with a couple of different plans and luckily they did approve the plan. The only thing different is they’ve kind of straightened out a few of the boundaries and the districts now who the supervisors represent are just a different number. But we were told by the LSA and the Secretary of State as long as an incumbent lived within that district they didn’t have to run again. So district 1 now is, will be Kim’s (Wermersen); district 2 is Bill’s (Leopold); district 3 is Jeff (Thee); 4 is Steve (Clark) and 5 is Tim (Fairchild).”

The supervisors today (Tues.) approved the districts following a public hearing that drew no comment.
