A Family Nature Night is on tap this Friday. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Dickinson County Nature Center will hold their Family Nature Night on Friday evening. Naturalist Britney Snell says a snowshoe hike is planned. “Family Nature Night will be this Friday at 5 p.m., and we are hoping to do a snowshoe event because when we planned this back in December, we thought for sure we’d have snow. So, families can come out and enjoy the opportunity to be outside and snowshoe, but we do also have indoor activities planned if the weather does not allow for us to even be outside. If we do the snowshoe hike then we would learn a little bit about the history of snowshoes and how they used to be used, as well as get to experience them in a hands-on hike.”
She notes that the event is free, however registration is requested. “Please can head to our website, dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com, and right on that first page there’s a register for programs tab, and you can click on that. Our program is free, but we enjoy knowing who is coming. That way we can have enough supplies prepped for the families that will attend.”
