(Spirit Lake)– The owner of a northwest Iowa construction company faces charges in connection with a complaint from a rural Spirit Lake resident.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Loia Kraft of LeMars, owner of L & R Construction, has been charged with theft in the first degree…a class “C” felony; and ongoing criminal conduct…a class “B” felony.
Kraft is accused of unlawfully taking money from a customer for a construction job that was never finished and for failure to pay for materials valued in excess of 10-thousand dollars.
