(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) voted unanimously to delay for 90 days a project in Drainage District 50 on the north side of Milford. They took the action after learning the final cost is going to be double from what was originally projected. Colin Klingbeil, an engineer with Jacobson-Westergard, told the supervisors it’s based on previously unforeseen utility conflicts and other issues that have come up on the project for which a bid has been awarded. Klingbeil says development took place over the existing tile line is also considerably adding to the cost…
Klingbeil added the county will need to sit down with city officials to negotiate an easement agreement for use of city of street right-of-way for the new tile route. He recommend the supervisors hold another public hearing once that agreement and other factors are worked out…
Supervisors Steve Clark and Tim Fairchild will represent the county in negotiations with the city.
