Dickinson Co. Supervisors Opt To Seek Bids On Excess Buildings

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday decided to sell buildings that formerly housed the Auditors Office and Department of Human Services.

The supervisors will accept bids at 10:00 a.m. March 4th in the Community Room of the courthouse.

The supervisors say they will not accept bids that are less than the appraised values of the buildings: 115-thousand dollars for the former Auditor’s building and 250-thousand for the former DHS building.

Terms are ten percent down at the date of the sales, with closing on the properties within 45 days after that.

Proceeds for now will go into the county’s general fund, but supervisor Pam Jordan says it may eventually go into a maintenance fund for the new courthouse.
