Dickinson Co. Supervisors Discuss Hiring A Drainage Attorney

March 08, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson County Supervisors today (Tues.) authorized Assistant County Attorney Steve Goodlow to draw up a letter of engagement with drainage attorney Jim Hudson of Pocahontas. Goodlow said it makes sense for the county to retain those services siting some things that could be coming up…

“I think everyone on the board is aware that in the not so distant future there’s at least two or three different districts that there’s potential litigation coming.”

Hudson, who was at today’s (Tues.) meeting, said he would provide advice on drainage-related matters, adding he does not try cases, but would provide background and assistance to an attorney the county would hire for that.

The engagement letter will come back to the supervisors for formal consideration at an upcoming meeting.
