Dickinson Co. Supervisors Approve Agreement To Outsource Human Resource Services For County Employees

April 06, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county will be soon be outsourcing its human resource services for county employees. The Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved an agreement with Ahlers and Cooney to provide those services.

County Attorney Amy Zenor told board members it makes sense to have an outside source provide those services for one reason in particular…

“We don’t have an H.R. Department for the county. We don’t have somebody to go to when they’re upset about what’s happening in their office. So for them to have to go to a person, the Auditor, that isn’t trained to deal with those issues, was unfair to the Auditor.”

Zenor says the County Auditor will still handle most of the paper work dealing with things such as payroll, insurance, and so on.
