Dickinson Co. Sheriff’s Office To Hold “Citizen’s Academy”

(Spirit Lake)– Ever wonder what it’s like to be a law enforcement officer? Here’s your opportunity to find out.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office is once again holding it’s Citizen’s Academy.

Sheriff Greg Baloun says the seven week program will be held on Tuesdays beginning March 27th. The academy runs until May 8th.

Baloun says it will cover all aspects of law enforcement, including a tour of the Sheriff’s Office, jail and Communications Center; enforcement of OWI laws, meth labs, tasers, narcotics investigations, the MARTS Team, civil processes, firearms, and precision driving.

The academy is free and open to all Dickinson county residents. More information is available at www.dickinsoncountysheriff.com or by stopping the Sheriff’s Office at the courthouse in Spirit Lake.
