Dickinson Co. Meth Raids Result In Five Arrests

(Spirit Lake)—Search warrants executed on residences in Spirit Lake, Milford and the Francis Sites areas yesterday (Wed.) and last (Wed.) evening resulted in the arrests of five people on drug charges.

Authorities say the first search warrant was executed at lot 60 in the Center Lake Trailer Court in Spirit Lake. 39-year-old William Asberry was taken into custody on an arrest warrant charging him with pseudoephedrine violations. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…third offense, a class “D” felony.

The second search warrant was executed at 706 Okoboji Avenue in Milford. It resulted in the arrests of 37-year-old Ramona Hurd and 44-year-old Robert Hurd. They were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

The third search warrant was executed in the Francis Sites area where 50-year-old Randy Hurd was arrested and charged with posession of methamphetamine with intent to sell; possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture; possession of anhydrous ammonia with intent to manufacture; possession of lithium with intent to manufacture and possession of marijuana.

44-year-old Melissa Hurd was also arrested at that location and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture and possession of marijuana.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Spirit Lake, Milford and Estherville Police Departments carried out the searches with assistance from the O’Brien and Clay County Sheriffs offices and the Spirit Lake Fire Department.

Authorities say the investigation continues and more arrests are likely.
