(Spirit Lake)– With the clock ticking toward the June 30th expiration of the county’s current contract for mental health services, the Dickinson county board of supervisors are reviewing their options.
Supervisor Mardi Allen, who represents the county on the Season’s Center board with whom the county currently contracts for the services, outlined several options Tuesday. They include going once again with a yearly contract; going to a month-to-month contract for up to six months until services and case management contracts are settled; or to explore other possible options. The rates would be $9,184 per month for a monthly contract or $110,205 for the year-long option.
Following further discussion, the board authorized Assistant County Attorney Lonnie Saunders to work on finalizing an agreement for a month-to-month contract and bring it back to the board for formal consideration.
A spokeswoman for Season’s Center who was at Tuesday’s meeting, said the agency recently obtained another full-time therapist for their Spirit Lake office and they will continue to offer services locally.
