(Spirit Lake)– The new Dickinson county courthouse is getting some kudos for its energy efficiency components.
The facility features high-efficiency lighting, LED exit signs, energy-efficient chillers, occupancy sensors, energy-saving windows and window coatings, adjustable speed drives for both a cooling tower and for chilled waters, and a high-tech heating, ventilation and cooling system.
County officials recently received a custom rebate check from Alliant Energy for 31,718-dollars because of the energy-efficient technologies that are in place at the new courthouse.
The company offers a variety of cash incentives to commercial and industrial businesses to implement energy-efficiency projects.
