Dickens Search Results In Arrest Of Dickens Man

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A search warrant executed Wednesday on some outbuildings near Dickens has resulted in charges against a Dickens man.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the search resulted in the discovery and seizure of items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine, including anhydrous and lithium.

44-year-old Douglas Johnson of Dickens was later arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; possessing anhydrous ammonia in an unauthorized container; and possession of lithium with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

Authorities say additional charges may be filed pending DCI lab tests.

Johnson was booked into the Clay county jail on 12-thousand dollars bond.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Clay County Attorney’s Office, the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force and the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
