DED Awards Marketing Grants

(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Economic has announced 23 new marketing awards totaling nearly 163-thousand dollars from its Regional Tourism Marketing Grant program. Funding comes from state gambling revenue and is designed to assist communities in placing tourism advertising in out-of-state markets to attract visitors to Iowa.

Locally, the Clay County Fair will receive 9,400 for brochures to be stuffed in newspapers in Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota; a radio campaign in Minnesota and South Dakota; and billboards in Vermillion, South Dakota and Jackson, Nebraska.

The Okoboji Tourism Committee will receive 7,500-dollars for some billboards in Minnesota.
