D.O.T Plans Aerial Seeding Along Hwy. 60 In O’Brien & Sioux Counties

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– The Iowa Department of Transportation says it will be doing some aerial seeding of right-of-way along portions of several highways, including a stretch of Highway 60 near Sheldon.

The D-O-T says a low-flying plane will broadcast the seed and fertilizer. They say it will be done on days when the wind is 10 miles-per-hour or less and other suitable conditions are present. Officials say temporary signs will be in place while the operation is underway, and D-O-T inspectors will be present.

Aerial seeding will be done locally along a stretch of Highway 60 in O’Brien and Sioux counties from south of Sheldon to five miles north of Sheldon.
