Crash On Hwy 86 @ Treasure Village Injures Three

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– A two-vehicle collision Saturday on Highway 86 at the entrance to Treasure Village sent three people to the hospital.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 62-year-old Elmer Hintz of Livermore was northbound and was attempting to make a left turn when he collided with a southbound vehicle driven by 42-year-old Jean Correll of Medford, Minnesota. Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch.

Hintz, Correll and a passenger in one of the vehicles, 66-year-old Della Schroeder of Fort Dodge, were all taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. Hintz and Correll were treated for non-incapacitating injuries; the extent of injuries to Schroeder wasn’t immediately available.

10-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Hintz; a 1995 Chevrolet Astro van driven by Correll sustained an estimated eight thousand dollars in damage.

Hintz was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way upon making a left turn.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Milford Police Department, Milford Fire and Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance.

The mishap took place around 1:15 p.m.
