Crash North Of Fostoria Injures Spencer Man

(Fostoria)– A two-vehicle collision Wednesday evening north of Fostoria sent one person to the hospital.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Teresa Dodge of rural Milford was northbound on Highway 71 and had slowed to make a right-hand turn onto County Road A-43 when she was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Jacob Schatzberg of Spencer. Both vehicles then slid off the road and went into a ditch on the northeast corner of the intersection.

Schatzberg was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. There was no word on the nature of his injuries.

No injuries were reported to Dodge.

A 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Schatzberg and a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Dodge both received an estimated 6,500-dollars in damage.

Schatzberg was cited for failure to stop in a clear and assurred distance.

The mishap took place around 6:30 p.m.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Milford Police Department, Milford Fire and Rescue, Fostoria Fire and Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance.
