Crash Near Templar Park Injures Four

November 22, 2014

(Orleans)– A two-vehicle collision Sunday in Orleans injured four people.

Spirit Lake police say vehicles driven by 54-year-old Rick Dicus of Wakefield, Nebraska and 18-year-old Amanda Bannister of Estherville collided at the intersection of 240th Avenue and South Templar Drive on the west side of Big Spirit Lake.

No injuries were reported to Dicus. A female passenger in his vehicle was treated on the scene by paramedics but was not transported to the hospital.

Bannister and two juvenile passengers in her vehicle, who’s names weren’t available, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. There was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries.

Dicus was cited for failure to yield.

2,500-dollars in damage was estimated to a 2003 Dodge driven by Dicus; damage to a 1995 Plymouth driven by Bannister was estimated at four thousand dollars.

The mishap took place shortly after Noon.
