(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision this (Monday) morning at the intersection of Highway 71 and 27th Street in Spirit Lake sent two people to the hospital with minor injuries.
Spirit Lake police say 64-year-old Kathleen Hardman of Spirit Lake was southbound on Highway 71 and was attempting to turn east onto 27th Street when she collided with a northbound vehicle driven by 47-year-old Teresa Abbas of Milford.
Hardman was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare while Abbas was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. Both were treated for minor injuries.
2,500-dollars in damage was estimated to a 1994 Chevrolet driven by Hardman; a 1999 Mazda driven by Abbas sustained an estimated two thousand dollars in damage.
Hardman was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.
Spirit Lake police were assisted on the scene by the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and Spirit Lake First Responders.
The collision took place shortly before 8:30 a.m.
