(Spencer)– 18 community and business leaders from the four-county region of the Iowa Lakes Corridor are enroute on their annual trip to Washington, D.C.
Kathy Evert, President of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, says they’ll be lobbying the local congressional delegation on a number of issues. They include the Spencer Beltway Project; upgrading Highway 86 between Highway Nine and the Minnesota border; the Storm Lake Restoration Project; construction of the Sustainable Energy Education Training Center at Iowa Lakes Community College and the Spencer Storm Sewer Project.
Evert says they’ll also be advocating renewal of the Production Tax Credit for Wind Energy; the Wireless Universal Service Fund for Rural Areas; and support for completion of US Highway 20.
The delegation will return to northwest Iowa this weekend.
