(Spencer)– Construction on an addition to Spencer Hospital’s Abben Cancer Center continues to make good progress. That word from Marketing Director Susan Zulk.
Zulk adds the project is entering a new stage that will impact patients, visitors and staff members. She says the main entrance to the Abben Cancer Center will be closed beginning this coming Monday (Sept. 22nd), lasting about two weeks. Zulk says access will be available by using the back door on the east side of the facility.
The project consists of the construction of a vault that will house a new state-of-the-art linear acceleration machine. The new equipment is scheduled to go into operation in early 2009.
Zulk says the center continues to treat patients in the meantime with its existing radiation equipment.
