(Humboldt)– A Fort Dodge woman died, and a Pocahontas woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Humboldt County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened shortly before 4:40pm Wednesday between Gilmore City and Humboldt on Highway 3, just east of county road P-23. 56-year-old Brenda Knight of Fort Dodge was driving a 2019 Nissan Kick eastbound on Highway 3. For unknown reasons, Knight’s vehicle crossed the center-line of the highway and into the path of a westbound 2006 Hummer H3 driven by 59-year-old Becky Rice of Pocahontas. Knight passed away as a result of the crash, while Rice was injured. Both women were transported to the Humboldt Hospital by Humboldt EMS. They were both wearing seat belts. The accident remains under investigation.
