(Spirit Lake)– A Minnesota man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision late Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 71 and 34th Street in Spirit Lake.
Authorities say 23-year-old Alexander Thies of Battle Lake, Minnesota was northbound on Highway 71 and was attempting to make a left turn onto 34th Street when he turned into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by 38-year-old Lacey Laake of Milford.
Thies was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare with serious injuries and was transferred by air to a Sioux Falls hospital. No injuries were reported to Laake.
The collision took place around 4:00 pm.
