Clay County Traffic Stop Results In Pot Discovery

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A weekend traffic stop in Clay county has resulted in drug charges against three people.

The Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 10:00 p.m. Saturday when a deputy pulled over a vehicle for a minor traffic violation.

A subsequent search of the vehicle and the deployment of the Clay County K-9 resulted in deputies finding what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

18-year-old Robert Clopton, 19-year-old Tyler Crone and 18-year-old Tyler Determan were charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana.

An additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was filed against Clopton, who may also be charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana…pending the outcome of results from the DCI crime lab.
