(Spencer)– Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision Friday at the intersection of Highway 18 and 240th Avenue in Clay county.
The sheriff’s office says 18-year-old Latasha Smith of Spencer was travelling on 240th Avenue when she failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Nancy Jo Essick-Salton who was eastbound on Highway 18.
Essick-Salton was treated at the scene for minor injuries; no injuries were reported to Smith.
Front end damage was reported to a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Smith while damage was reported to the driver’s side of a 1998 Dodge Neon Essick-Salton was driving. A dollar estimate on the damage wasn’t immediately available.
Smith was cited for no insurance and failure to yield upon entering a highway.
The collision took place shortly before 5:00 p.m. Friday.
