(Spencer)—A two-vehicle collision this (Thurs.) morning at the intersection of 280th Avenue and 340th Street in Clay county resulted in minor injuries to two people.

The Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Brandon Minor of Ruthven was westbound on 340th Street and 61-year-old Jerry Groenwold of rural Spencer was southbound on 280th Avenue when the two collided.

Minor injuries were reported to both drivers—Groenwold was taken by ambulance to Spencer hospital; Minor was taken by private vehicle.

Two thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1992 Chevrolet truck driven by Minor; a 2003 Chevrolet truck driven by Groenwold sustained an estimated 10-thousand dollars in damage.

Minor was cited for failure to yield.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Dickens Fire and Rescue.

The collision took place shortly before 8:00 this (Thurs.) morning.
