Clay County Authorities Investigate Criminal Mischief Cases

(Spencer)– Clay county authorities are asking for the public’s assistance as it investigates a couple of criminal mischief cases.

Authorities say the incidents took place sometime between Thursday and Friday of last week.

In one instant, authorities say someone damaged a 1989 Pace Arrow camper parked in the 3200 block of 420th Street. A driver’s side mirror and a rear window were broken out. In addition, authorities say a concrete block was thrown through the front driver’s side window. An estimate of damage wasn’t immediately available.

The other incident involved some construction equipment in the area of County Road M-54 and Highway 18. Authorities say two caterpillars were driven into other machinery causing front-end damage. The equipment was also used to push an excavator into a hole and partially bury it.

A damage estimate wasn’t immediately available.

The equipment is owned by King’s Construction of Wall Lake.
