(Spencer)– A Sioux City man escaped injury in a single-vehicle rollover Saturday but wound up going to jail for drunk driving.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Matthew Madson of Sioux City was eastbound on Highway 18 when he lost control. The vehicle went into the north ditch where it rolled…coming to rest upright facing west.
Upon investigating deputies determined Madson was intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Clay county jail.
Madson was charged with operating while intoxicated…first offense; failure to maintain control and no seatbelt.
A 1998 Dodge pickup he was driving was totalled.
The crash took place around 5:45 a.m. Saturday.
