Clay Co. Mishap Results In Charges Against Everly Woman

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Charges have been filed against an Everly woman in connection with a single-vehicle mishap Sunday in Clay county.

The Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Korrie Spears of Everly was westbound on 360th Street when she approached the intersection with County Road M-38. Authorities say she went through the intersection without stopping for a stop sign and went into a field.

Spears sustained a swollen lip but didn’t seek immediate treatment.

She was charged with first offense driving while intoxicated, no proof of insurance and failure to obey a traffic control device.

Spears was booked into the Clay county jail.

A 2000 Volkswagon Beetle she was driving sustained an estimated five thousand dollars in damage.

The crash took place around 1:00 a.m. Sunday.
