Clay Co. Juvie Accused Of Possessing Narcotics; Stealing Money

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A complaint filed with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Thursday by a concerned parent led to the arrest this (Friday) morning of a 16-year-old female on narcotics charges.

Deputies say they responded to the scene in rural Clay county around 4:15 p.m. Thursday where they found what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia and stolen Hydrocodone, a prescription drug.

The father also reported the theft of 2,800-dollars in cash, which he believed was stolen by his daughter, who authorities couldn’t immediately track down.

At about 12:40 this (Friday) morning, a Clay county deputy made a traffic stop west of Spencer in the 1800 block of County Road B24 and discovered the female. She was a passenger in a car driven by another juvenile female.

The wanted teen was taken into custody on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

She was also found to be in possession of more than 1,100-dollars in cash, and authorities say there was evidence she had been on a spending spree. The money, along with the purchased items, were turned over to the girl’s father when the juvenile was released to him.

Authorities say additional charges surrounding the stolen money and possession of prescription pills may be filed as the investigation continues.
