(Okoboji)—Some professional wakeboarders are teaming up with student filmers from Spirit Lake High School, Iowa State University, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa in a special project in the Iowa Great Lakes.
The project, titled Red Bull Blackout, is a unique night-time film project involving high school and college film students who work with a professional cinematographer filming professional wakeboarders using specialized lighting and helicopters.
One shoot was conducted late last (Tues.) night on Smith’s Bay of West Lake Okoboji.
The shooting is expected to continue at various locations around the Iowa Great Lakes through Friday.
