(Lake Park)– A collision Wednesday involving a car and a snow plow owned by the city of Lake Park and being driven by its Police Chief sent the driver of the car to the hospital.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Jason Kriech of Lake Park was southbound on 135th Avenue just south of Lake Park when he lost control on the slush-covered road. The vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the plow, driven by 38-year-old Jeffrey Jacobsma of Lake Park.
Kriech was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare for treatment of minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Jacobsma, who was cited for failure to possess a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle he was operating.
The Buick Regal driven by Kriech was totaled; no damage was reported to the plow.
The collision took place around 8:20 a.m.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance and the Lake Park Police Department.
