(Primghar)– A collision Tuesday involving a car and a semi in O’Brien county resulted in minor injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office says it took place shortly before 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highways 59 and 10.
Authorities say 20-year-old Cody Moulton of Primghar was driving a 2001 Dodge Intrepid southbound on Highway 59 and was attempting to turn west onto Highway 10 when he became distracted by his dog, which was riding along. Authorities say Moulton took the corner too wide and collided with a 2000 International semi tractor-trailer driven by 57-year-old John Cedar of Cherokee. Authorities say Cedar was eastbound on Highway 10 and was approaching a stop sign.
Cedar sustained minor injuries. He was taken by private vehicle to the Cherokee clinic. No other injuries were reported.
The car driven by Moulton sustained an estimated eight thousand dollars in damage; about five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the semi tractor-trailer owned by Hy-Vee.
Moulton was cited for failure to maintain control.
