(Spirit Lake)– A Lake Park man was injured Wednesday when a vehicle he was driving collided with a light pole in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say 58-year-old Richard Cother, Senior was westbound on Highways 9 & 71 and was approaching the intersection with Gary Avenue when he lost control after suffering a medical condition.
The 1997 Dodge Ram pickup he was driving left the road to the right, crossed Gary Avenue and the left the road, striking a light pole head-on.
Cother was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. There was no word on the extent of his injuries or condition.
4,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the pickup.
The mishap took place around 11:30 a.m.
