Car vs. Pickup Collision Injures Both Drivers

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision shortly before 3:00 p.m. Thursday injured both drivers.

Spencer police say 31-year-old Jason Evans of Spencer was northbound on First Avenue West at the intersection with West Seventh Street when he dropped his cell phone. The pickup he was driving traveled through a stop sign and collided with a car driven by 17-year-old Christian Bonine of Greenville who was eastbound on West Seventh Street.

Evans and Bonine were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with what was described as non-incapacitating injuries.

Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1990 Oldsmobile driven by Bonine; a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Evans sustained an estimated 4,500-dollars in damage.

Evans was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
