(Spirit Lake)– A broken natural gas service line caused a bit of excitement late Tuesday afternoon in Spirit Lake.
Fire Chief David Kollasch says firefighters were called to the scene near 15th Street and Hill Avenue around 5:00 p.m.
Kollasch says a contractor replacing a service accidentally cut a natural gas service line. Kollasch says the contractor already had the line capped when firefighters arrived. He says they stood by as a precaution while repairs were made.
Kollasch says there were no incidents, and fire fighters returned to the station after being on the scene about a half hour.
Traffic was also routed around the scene as a precaution.
