Bowling Ball Crashes Through Semi Windshield; Driver Seriously Injured

(Fairmont, Mn.)– A Montana man is hospitalized with serious injuries after someone dropped a bowling ball off an overpass on Interstate 90 near Fairmont.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 54-year-old Ted Maki of Missoula, Montana was driving a semi tractor/trailer eastbound when a bowling ball crashed through the windshield, striking him in the head.

The semi crossed the median and went into the westbound lanes of the interstate and broke through a fence, coming to rest in a corn field.

Maki was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with head injuries.

No injuries were reported to a passenger, 55-year-old Dawn Maki, also of Missoula, Montana.

Minor damage was reported to the semi.

The incident took place shortly after midnight Sunday.
