(Spirit Lake)– A Terril man faces charges after results of blood tests linked him to a case of vandalism back in April in Terril.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says it received several reports of vandalism around Terril in the early morning of April 17th.
In addition to that, the office also received a report of an intoxicated man reporting himself to be a Dickinson County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Authorities say at one of the vandalism scenes the suspect injured himself, leaving some blood behind. That blood was collected by deputies and was sent to the state crime lab along with a swab from a suspect.
Upon receiving the test results recently, authorities discovered the blood belonged to 21-year-old Joshua Link of Terril. He was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on three counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree and impersonating a public official…an aggravated misdemeanor.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in its investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory.
