Authorities Seize 60 Dogs Living In Squalor On Jackson, County Farm

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– Authorities in Jackson county, Minnesota say they seized 60 dogs Friday that were living in unsanitary conditions at a residence in section 33 of West Heron Lake Township.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies executed a search warrant on the residence after getting a report the animals were living in poor conditions.

The 60 dogs that were seized included breeds of labradors, spaniels and german short hairs. In addition, two adult dogs were found dead at the site.

The Humane Society for Companion Animals based out of the Twin Cities assisted authorities in removing the dogs. Authorities say various shelters have been arranged to keep the dogs.

A news release issued by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t say whether any charges have been filed, only that the case remains under investigation and that no other information is being released for now.
