(Spencer)– The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance as it investigates a hit-and-run that took place Tuesday night in Peterson.
Authorities say a truck hit a utility pole at the corner of Main and Front Street and took off.
The pole, owned by Alliant Energy, was sheared off at the ground. The cost to replace it was put at 2,500-dollars.
A witness reported seeing what’s described as a white semi with a box-style trailer leave the scene.
Anyone else who may have witnessed the incident or that has any information into it is asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities received the report shortly before 11:00 p.m.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Peterson Fire Department.
